God sees us for who we can become

During the October general conference of 2012, President Thomas S. Monson emphasized that many people—both members and non‑members—are capable of profound change if someone will believe in them, encourage them, and give them opportunities to serve. He said, "We should develop the capacity to see men not as they are but as they can become", he illustrated the power of seeing others with spiritual vision. Acts 9 describes Saul’s powerful encounter with the Lord—a moment that completely redirected his life. Once a fierce persecutor of the Church and its followers, he became a devoted disciple. God looked past Saul’s history and saw the commitment, resilience, and influence he would one day offer. Saul’s change came suddenly, while ours often unfolds gradually, yet the underlying principle is unchanged. The gospel is fundamentally about transformation.
